I visited TU Dresden twice in the last two weeks. During the first visit, I worked intensively with Xiao Liu on the revision of our paper, which focuses on using GEDI to assess changes in forest vertical structure over time. The opportunity to work and discuss the text together in person was very refreshing compared to the impersonal writing of comments in online documents. We both enjoyed it, and we believe that, in addition to a successful revision, we also gained some interesting ideas for continuing this research. The main reason for the second visit was my presentation at the geoscientific colloquium. I talked about the Usability and quality of air- and spaceborne lidar for environmental applications. The talk was 45 minutes long, followed by a discussion. It was not my best presentation, but it was not my worst either. In fact, the audience had many interesting questions and valuable suggestions for improving the presentation. I am grateful for the experience and for the feedback to refine my presentation next time. Last but not least, we discussed our idea for an Interreg project proposal, and on my way back to Prague, I stopped by in Ústí nad Labem to discuss our intentions with the Regional Office of the Ústecký kraj.
