We are thrilled to congratulate Michela Perrone, who has successfully completed her PhD at the Department of Spatial Sciences. Her remarkable journey was supported by her supervisors, Marco Malavasi and Vítězslav Moudrý, who guided her every step of the way. The EarthBridge project also played a key role, with Prof. Anna Cord from the University of Bonn providing invaluable expertise as her opponent.
Michela’s research focused on assessing plant biodiversity through remote sensing at various ecological scales. One of the highlights of her work is the publication of her article, “Flower Power: How Flowering Affects Spectral Diversity Metrics and Their Relationship with Plant Diversity”. Notably, one of her co-authors was Duccio Rocchini, a fellow collaborator on the EarthBridge project.
We are excited to share that Michela will continue her excellent work at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, where she will remain involved in the EarthBridge project.
